Do I need to subscribe?

Well, yes and no. If you just want to listen to archived shows on your PC, click on the "Mission Creep Hi-Fi" link to the left. If you want a true podcast, read on...

What is a podcast?

Podcasting lets you automatically receive the latest episode of Mission Creep Hi-Fi as soon as it's available. You need to "subscribe" to receive a podcast, rather like you might subscribe to a magazine and get it delivered each week. The podcasts are free, and you can stop receiving the files at any time.

In order to sign up for a podcast you need an internet connection and a piece of podcast software which is usually available free of charge. This software can check  for new episodes and automatically download them for you.

How do I subscribe?

You will need an internet connection; and a piece of podcast software or an RSS feed reader.

How you subscribe will vary depending on which software you have chosen. The most popular is iTunes.

To subscribe the first thing you need to do is add the "feed" of the podcast to your software (or online reader). The feed is where the software will go to each time it wants to check for a new episode. This is our feed address:

You will need to copy this feed address and paste it into your podcast software. How you do this will depend on your software, but you should look out for buttons   or links (in your software) that say "Add" or "Subscribe". Alternately, you may subscribe via an RS feed on that page using the menu at the top of the page.

How do I unsubscribe?

Awww...are you sure?  ;-) Anyways, unsubscribing from a podcast will depend on the software or feed reader that you are using but here are some general guidlines:

Select the undesired podcast (feed), in the software or feed reader that you are using.

Next, look for commands or buttons with "unsubscribe", "delete", "remove", "remove selected feed" or similar sounding text and carry out the action.

Sometimes simply selecting the feed and hitting the delete key may do the trick.

Note that unsubscribing from a podcast will not necessarily delete previously downloaded episodes and deleting the actual files may require further action on your part.
